What Was the Trials of Osiris?
Trials of Osiris played Friday-Tuesday each week in the original Destiny. Players would create three-person teams and compete in a unique playlist. Each triumph was marked on their Trials of Osiris scorecard (up to nine). After three defeats, players must exchange their cards for wins-based prizes and requeue.

Destiny 2 Trials: hat Went Wrong?
Last Trials of Osiris weekend occurred on Aug. 14, 2017. The sequel was different. Trials of the Nine replaced the Egyptian-themed Trials of Osiris. Elimination was replaced by Countdown and Survival. But Destiny 2’s heart was broken.
In vanilla Destiny 2, Bungie put sniper rifles, shotguns, and fusion rifles in the heavy weapon slot. This modification affected the Crucible the most, removing several one-hit kill weapons that rewarded skill over spraying.
Without these high-damage weapons, players used the same builds. The MIDA Multi-tool scout rifle and Uriel’s Gift auto weapon were early favorites in Trials of the Nine.
Trials of the Nine’s prizes were likewise problematic. In Destiny, going faultless in Trials was difficult, but in Destiny 2, there was no incentive. Except for aesthetic armor, all Trials of the Nine weapons were identical.
Bungie put Trials of the Nine on indefinite vacation in the fall of 2018, hurting Destiny 2 PvP. Fans have waited nearly a year and a half for Trials’ return. Bungie’s return has been teased for months.
When will trials resume?
Destiny 2’s Trials of Osiris haven’t been revealed. Bungie has been testing Elimination for a few months, and it appears to be returning to its previous form.
3v3 Elimination should return. With the Empyrean Foundation rebuilding the Lighthouse, perfect players can return to the legendary social place.
Saint-14 sells Eye of Osiris flags in Tower Hangar. Saint might be the Osiris vendor or the match storyteller, like the Emissary of the Nine in Destiny 2. We don’t sure if faultless runs will earn unique weaponry or cosmetics.
