What Does a Huawei Monitor Offer?
We have tested and reviewed various Huawei PC monitors. Among the features that we liked most are its 4ms response time, 3:2 aspect ratio, and Aluminum display frame. However, there are a few shortcomings we noticed. Let’s take a closer look at what the Huawei pc monitor offers. And remember, a good monitor should be affordable. This review is based on our experience with both the PC and the smartphone.
4ms response time
In terms of price, the 34-inch 1440p Huawei monitor isn’t bad, particularly when compared to other competing options. It has a 4ms response time, an impressive 165 Hz refresh rate, and a great soundbar. This brand-new model from Huawei isn’t terribly innovative, but it makes many of its competitors look cheap by comparison. Here are the most important facts about the Huawei monitor.
Its response time of 4ms is fast enough for gamers to enjoy smooth gameplay. The difference between a 4ms response time and a 1ms response time is almost insignificant. However, many monitors boasting of a high response time aren’t up to that standard. IPS or OLED displays are recommended for multi-tasking productivity. The Huawei MateView GT isn’t the best choice for gaming due to its 4ms response time, but it is certainly worth a look.
3:2 aspect ratio
The latest generation of Huawei MateBook PCs features a three-inch display with an increased aspect ratio of 3:2. The screen is also equipped with a wireless charging pad at the base, a feature that is quite convenient but rarely implemented by other manufacturers. Although Huawei doesn’t make display panels, they probably use the same panel used by other manufacturers to produce their monitors. This is good news for graphic designers and other users who want to use their computers for more than basic tasks.
The Huawei MateView 28-inch display is another high-DPI monitor with a 3:2 aspect ratio. Its low-profile design and 3-inch pixel pitch are both excellent. It also comes with a matte finish that matches the Huawei MateBook laptops, which are surprisingly thin. The Huawei MateView also features a very thin bezel, and a screen-to-body ratio close to 100 percent. However, this aspect ratio is not for everyone, since it can cause black bars when watching movies in a 16:9 or a 16:10 format.
Aluminum display frame
The Huawei monitor is well-made and good-looking, featuring a silver finish and an aluminum display frame. It has a 94% screen-to-body ratio and a 3:2 aspect ratio. The base is integrated with NFC connectivity for wireless projection from compatible Huawei smartphones. Its twin 5-W speakers and dual microphones are built into the stand. Although it lacks bass response, the monitor is otherwise very good.
The MateView screen is only available in Mystic Silver, but it still feels nice to the touch. The aluminum display frame has a slightly rougher feel than its silver counterpart. Its slim profile is an advantage over old school black monitors, which tend to have a “classic” look. The MateView monitor’s stand is also thin and oversized. The screen is bright and sharp, which makes it ideal for general usage, but it’s not good for gaming.
Lack of fit and finish
When it comes to design, the Huawei PC monitors are among the best around. The MateView is particularly impressive, with a fully-aluminum body and smooth finish all around. The brushed metal finish on the back and Huawei logo on the front add a nice touch. Its price is more affordable than rivals, and it also comes with built-in speakers. If you’re looking for a good monitor, the MateView GT is worth considering.

Even big single-player games run smoothly on the Huawei panel. Its low price is also a plus, with a low price tag of just $229 (after rebate).

A dual-array microphone and a pair of twin 5-W speakers are built into the stand, but the latter don’t feature bass response.
The MateView GT is Huawei’s first gaming monitor, and while it tends to edge out rivals in terms of color space and wireless display capabilities, it’s far from the best option in this price range. However, rival monitors offer better HDR specifications and gaming-focused features, like FreeSync. It’s difficult to find a decent gaming monitor at this price point without dual-array microphones.
