2. Using Alt + Prtscn Keys

To quickly take a screenshot of active Windows, use the keyboard shortcut Alt + PrtScn.

This will capture your active Windows and copy the screenshot to the clipboard. You have to open the application in an image editor to save it.

3. Using Windows Key + Prtscn

To capture the entire screen and automatically save the screenshot, press the Windows key + Prtscn key.

Your screen will dim briefly to indicate that you just took a screenshot, and the screenshot will be saved to the images folder ==> screenshot.

4. Using Windows Key + Shift + S

The screen will dim and the laptop mouse pointer will change. You can drag the cursor to select the part of the screen to take a picture.

5. Using Windows Logo Key + Volume Down

If you are using a Microsoft Surface device, you can use physical buttons to take a screenshot of your entire screen.

It’s similar to the way you take screenshots on other phones or tablets.

To do this, hold down the Windows logo touch button at the bottom of your Surface screen and press the physical volume-down button on the side of the tablet. The screen will dim briefly and the screenshot will be automatically saved to the images folder ==> screenshots.

6. Using the Game Bar

You can use the game bar to take screenshots, whether you are playing the game or not.

Press Windows key + G to bring up the game bar. From here, you can click the screenshot button in the game bar or use the default Windows key + Alt + PrtScn key shortcut to take a full-screen screenshot.

To set your own game bar screenshot keyboard shortcut, you can go to settings ==> game ==> game bar.

7. Using the Snipping Tool

This application can take screenshots in a more flexible format such as rectangle, active Windows only, or full screen.

How to use it simply open the default Windows application, namely the Snipping Tool. Once open, click the new button to start the screenshot process. 

The default snip type is a rectangular snip, but you can also take snips in other free formats.

The snipping tool doesn’t automatically save screenshots, you have to save them manually in the app before you exit. If so, this application will automatically copy your screenshot to the clipboard.
